| Terrell Buckley Agrees to Co-Host Local Golf Classic Friday, February 04, 2005
PASCAGOULA -- The Bacot/Jolly P. McCarty Foundation announced Thursday that New York Jets defensive back Terrell Buckley has agreed to co-host the Jolly McCarty Memorial Shane Matthews Celebrity Golf Classic with his NFL buddy.
Buckley, a graduate of Pascagoula High School, played with the Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, New England Patriots and New York Jets. The double shotgun-start tournament will be played July 16 at Shell Landing in Gautier. A reception and silent auction is set for the night before at the Grand Casino Biloxi.
Money raised by the tournament will aid the Bacot/Jolly P. McCarty Foundation in funding projects in Jackson County for the arts and education.
Buckley grew up in Gautier, while Matthews is a Pascagoula native. Both Matthews and Buckley would like to see scholarships for Pascagoula and Gautier students established through this organization, said tournament co-chairman Todd Trenchard. |
